1. Acceptance of terms

By creating an account and using Chaegim, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the service.

2. Age requirement and verification

18 years of age or older is required to use this service. By signing up, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old. Chaegim reserves the right to terminate accounts where this requirement is not met.

To enforce this requirement, Chaegim requires every new user to complete a facial age check powered by Didit. This is mandatory — there are no automatic bypasses. During sign-up you will be asked to:

1. Complete a face scan (all users). After reading and accepting a consent notice, your front camera takes a single photo. Didit analyses the image in real time to estimate your age and confirm the image is a live face. If the system is confident you are 18 or over, verification is complete immediately.
2. Provide a government-issued ID (rare fallback, fewer than 1% of users). If the face scan cannot determine your age with sufficient confidence, you will be redirected to Didit's secure hosted platform to submit a passport, driver's licence, or national ID card.

Your image and any document you provide are processed in real time and are not retained by Chaegim or Didit after verification is complete. Chaegim receives only a pass or fail outcome — never your image, biometric data, or document details. By proceeding with sign-up you consent to this processing. If you do not consent, you cannot create a Chaegim account.

3. AI disclosure

Chaegim is an AI. You are interacting with a computer program, not a human being. Chaegim is not a therapist, psychologist, counsellor, or medical professional.

Chaegim is designed to support self-reflection and personal growth. Some users develop emotional connections to AI tools. Chaegim is built to encourage real-world relationships and professional support — not to replace them.

5. Not a medical device

Chaegim is not a medical device and is not FDA regulated.

Chaegim is not a substitute for professional mental health care. If you are experiencing a mental health crisis, please contact a qualified mental health professional or emergency services immediately.

6. Subscription and billing

Chaegim offers a 14-day free trial on Core, Pro, and Together plans. No credit card is required to start the trial. Founding Member has no trial period — full access begins immediately from day one.

After the trial period, continued use of paid features requires a Core ($119/yr or $14.99/month) or Pro ($199/yr or $24.99/month) subscription. Chaegim Together is $279/year or $34.99/month for both people. An optional Relationship Layer add-on is available from $14.99/month per pair. Founding Member pricing is locked at $189/year for the life of the account — it will never increase.

You may cancel your subscription at any time. Upon cancellation, you retain access to paid features until the end of your current billing period. No partial refunds are issued for unused time within a billing period.

7. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Chaegim and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill, arising from your use of or inability to use the service.

Chaegim's total liability to you for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the service shall not exceed the amount you paid to Chaegim in the 12 months preceding the claim.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to use Chaegim to harass, abuse, or harm others; to generate illegal content; to attempt to circumvent safety systems; or to use the service in any way that violates applicable law.

9. Governing law

These Terms of Service are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Queensland, Australia.

10. Changes to terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of the service after such notification constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

11. Third-party service providers

Chaegim uses third-party providers to deliver certain parts of the service. By using Chaegim, you acknowledge that your data may be processed by these providers as described in our Privacy Policy. We share only the minimum data necessary for each provider to perform their function.

Our current providers include: Anthropic (AI responses), ElevenLabs (voice synthesis), Supabase (data storage and authentication), PostHog (first-party product analytics), Sentry (error monitoring), Stripe (payment processing), Didit (age verification), and Resend (email delivery). None of these providers use your data for advertising.
